At Montana Mini Cattle & Valais, we specialize in raising and breeding exceptional - quality Miniature Highlands & Valais Blacknose Sheep.

Our Miniature Highlands have the conformation and temperament of full - size heritage breeds. They range in height from 37” to 43” tall and all are either purebred Scottish Highland or near purebred in the case our chondro positive and Highpark colored bulls.

Our purebred Valais Blacknose Sheep are sourced from world-class genetics and include the 2025 USA National Overall Supreme Grand Champion - Iowa Midnight Moonshine! Our first lambs are expected in Fall 2026.

We’re located in the scenic Bitterroot Valley of West Central Montana, and we’re passionate about providing both outstanding breeding stock and gorgeous pasture pets. Whether you’re building a breeding herd or flock or just adding something truly special to your farm, we’d love to help.

Frozen Tundra is non-chondro. He’s nearly full highland and puts loads of hair on his tiny little calves. About 50% of his calves have been tipped and the rest were solid. His conformation, hair and temperament make him a perfect herd sire.

Boo is one of the most striking young bulls we’ve ever seen. He’s the first retained son of Ghostface Gunner, and out of Silver Shimmer. Boo combines the very best of both parents. His structure is balanced, his hair is jaw-dropping, and his calm, gentle nature makes him a true joy to handle.

Phantom is full brother to Mr. Boombastic and is proving to be every bit as exceptional in conformation, hair and temperament. The only difference we see in these two right now is that Boo is their color.

Chewbacca is half brother to Mr. Boombastic and Phantom. He’s out of Ghostface Gunner and Lorelei. His conformation, hair and temperament are perfect. He appears to be slightly smaller than Boo & Phantom in height but this guy is built like a bulls bull! He’s was born a gorgeous champagne but his adult coat in coming in more creamy white. The wide chest and bone structure on this guy are absolutely fantastic.

We have more "little" friends too..

Our farm is also home to mini donkeys, mini horses, Nigerian Dwarf goats, and our beloved Golden Retrievers.

This fall, we’re especially excited for the arrival of our first mini donkey foals, bred from our registered Mediterranean Donkey trio: Arthur, Bailey, and Jenny. Foals are expected in late September / early October, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome these long-eared babies to the ranch!
