Welcome to Montana Mini Cattle

We specialize in mini sized highlands, ranging in height from 37-43". While some of our highlands are crossed with dexter or park breeds for specific attributes, nearly all of our calves are over 95% highland. This higher percentage gives our calves the correct overall highland appearance and temperament. We're located in the Bitterroot Valley of West Central Montana. Whether you're looking for quality breeding stock or gorgeous pets to grace your pastures, we look forward to helping you.

Our Available Mini's

Our calving season runs from April through June. All of our calves for 2024 are sold. Be sure to check back with us next Spring! We have an amazing line up planned for 2025!

Our Mini Bulls

Perfect White Miniature Highland Chondro Bull

White Chondro Positive Miniature Highland Bull

Ghostface Gunner

At 2.5 yrs old, Gunner is a compact little 37 inch bull. The chondro gene means that he's a dexter/highland cross because Highlands don't naturally carry the dwarf chondro gene. In Gunner's case, this cross took place several generations back, with each subsequent offspring being bred back to a full highland. The result is a true unicorn of bulls. He's small, fluffy, well proportioned, and near 100% highland. He's about as gentle as they come too. Gunner welcomed two gorgeous calves this Spring, Mr. Bombastic and Casper. We expect his 3 yr height to be 38 inches.

Miniature Dun Tipped Highpark Bull

Frozen Tundra

Frozen Tundra is one awesome little bull. Way back in his genetics, was the white park that gave him that distinctive color; white body and tipped ears. Tundra is the result of four generations of this offspring being bred back to pure highlands. He's more than 95% highland and were it not for his coloring, he would simply be called a highland. He's currently 40" (est 3 yr height 41"). Tundra welcomed his first two calves this Spring, Bella and Rocky.

Silver Chondo Positive Miniature Highland Bull

Mr. Bombastic

Boomer is our dream herdsire, retained this year from our own breeding program. He’s nearly a full blood highland, from fourth generation breeding. His sire is Ghostface Gunner, a 99% white chondro positive highland and his dam is a 41” silver highland. His unique coloring makes him extra special as he has a white splash on his head. He was just 18” at birth and we expect his 3 yr height will be 37-38". We’ll be excited to see what this little bull brings us in Spring 2026.

Dun Chondro Positive Miniature Highland Bull

Mighty Mack

Mack will be joining us later this Fall! At a mere 19" at birth, we don't expect him to mature at more than 38-39". I love the dun coloring and this little bull brings a double black allele to our ranch which we hope will translate to even more dun calves and the occasional silver. He's 85% highland and his parents are from two of the oldest mini-highland programs in the US.

We have more "little" friends too..

Mini donkeys, horses, and golden retrievers, also brighten our days here at the ranch. Our breeding trio of registered Mediterranean Donkeys, Arthur, Bailey and Jenny, will be bred this Fall for the first time. We are so excited to welcome baby mini donkeys to the ranch! Seems like we are missing some mini goats ;-)
